ABOUT ME & THE WORK
The Haiti I inherited from my elders while here lòt bò dlo, its rich literature that I can now read in French and English, and the vastness of Haitianist scholarship fuel my curiosities in ways not always apparent, not always present in my citational work. Onè.
I arrived at my current project, Beyond A Question of Extraction, following years of travels and sojourns outside the United States. I was not only a visitor to these places—the United Kingdom, France, Haiti, Senegal—but also a student while in these places. Through the experience of immersion, I learned to embrace the disorientation that results from inhabiting another geographical and linguistic space. Disorientation indeed troubles my own received knowledge, and yet I find it germane to knowledge seeking and production.
